Japanese Sencha Kukicha Green Tea

Japanese Sencha Kukicha Green Tea

Japanese Sencha Kukicha ( Kuki Cha) Green Tea (or twig tea) is special because unlike most teas it isn’t made with tea leaves, but the twigs and stems instead.

When tea leaves are harvested, they go through a selection process where stems and twigs are separated from the leaves.

Kukicha is slightly sweet with a mild nutty taste.

In other parts of Japan kukicha is also called shiraore (white fold) or boucha (stick tea).

It is common to steep kukicha for three or four infusions.

Kukicha is one of the preferred teas of the macrobiotic diet.

Kukicha can be added to juice to make a children's drink.

Kukicha is unique in that it is naturally very low in caffeine without any industrial decaffeination.

Brewing time: Use freshly drawn water at 75 ~ 80C  for 1.5 to 2 minutes.

Certified Organic.
